Responsive design means one website that reshapes itself to fit whatever screen it is on. On a laptop you might see three columns side by side. On a phone, those same columns stack into one, the menu tucks behind an icon, and the buttons get big enough for a thumb. It works like water taking the shape of its container, rather than having a separate site for every device.<\/p>

Why It Matters for Your Business<\/h2>

Most local searches happen on phones, often by someone ready to call or visit. If a plumber’s site makes visitors pinch and zoom to find the phone number, many of them will tap back and choose the next result. Google also primarily looks at the mobile version of your site when deciding how to rank it, so a poor phone experience can cost visibility as well as customers.<\/p>
