What It Is
Google Business Profile is the free listing that shows your business on Google Maps and in the panel that appears when someone searches your name. It holds your address or service area, phone number, hours, website, photos, services and reviews. It used to be called Google My Business. You claim and verify it through Google, then manage it from Google Search, Maps or the business profile dashboard.
Why It Matters for Your Business
For many local businesses, this profile is seen more often than the website itself. People call, ask for directions or read reviews right from the listing. A tennis coach with complete details, recent photos, a booking link and many positive reviews looks active and trustworthy compared with a bare listing that still shows old hours.
Good to Know
Tip: keep hours current, including holidays, choose the most accurate primary category and reply to every review politely, even negative ones. Post updates and photos now and then. Make sure the name, address and phone exactly match your website. Never use a fake address or keyword-stuffed name, which can get the profile suspended.
