Conversion Rate Explained.

In one sentenceConversion rate is the percentage of website visitors who complete a goal you care about, such as booking, calling or filling out a contact form.

What It Is

Conversion rate measures how many visitors take the action you want, out of everyone who visited. The action is called a conversion. It could be booking a lesson, submitting a quote request, calling from the site or buying a product. If 1,000 people visit and 20 fill out your contact form, your conversion rate for that form is 2 percent.

Why It Matters for Your Business

Conversion rate tells you whether your website is doing its job, not just attracting visits. A salon that doubles its conversion rate gets twice as many bookings from the same traffic, without spending more on ads. Comparing rates before and after changes, such as a shorter form or a clearer button, shows what actually helps.

Good to Know

Define what counts as a conversion before you measure, and set it up in your analytics tool. Small sites have small numbers, so judge trends over weeks or months, not single days. Also track more than one conversion, such as calls and form submissions, so you see the full picture of how the site performs.
