What It Is
The user interface, or UI, is everything on screen that a person sees and touches: buttons, menus, form fields, icons, sliders and text. If UX is how the trip feels, UI is the dashboard and steering wheel. A good UI is consistent, so a button always looks like a button and links behave the same way across every page.
Why It Matters for Your Business
A clear UI helps visitors act without thinking. When a contractor’s website uses one bold color for every "Get a quote" button, customers learn quickly where to click. When buttons look different on each page, or text links look like plain words, people miss them and leave.
Good to Know
Make buttons large enough to tap with a thumb on a phone, and label them with what will happen, like "Book a lesson," rather than vague words like "Submit." Clear labels set expectations, reduce hesitation and make people more comfortable clicking. Test every button on a real phone, not only on a desktop screen.
