Navigation Menu Explained.

In one sentenceA navigation menu is the set of links, usually at the top of a website, that lets visitors move between the main pages and sections.

What It Is

The navigation menu is the row or list of links that helps people move around your website. On a computer it usually sits across the top. On a phone it often collapses into an icon of three lines, sometimes called a hamburger menu. It works like the directory sign in a building lobby, showing where each department is.

Why It Matters for Your Business

A clear menu helps visitors find what they came for in seconds. A tennis coach whose menu shows Lessons, Camps, Pricing, About and Book makes the next step obvious. A menu with a dozen vague items, or one that hides the booking page, costs the business inquiries it would otherwise get.

Good to Know

Keep menu labels short and familiar, and put the most important item, often Contact or Book, at the end where people expect it. Check how the menu works on a phone, since that is where many visitors will use it. Test it with one thumb, while standing up.
