Call to Action (CTA)

In one sentenceA call to action, or CTA, is a button or link that tells visitors the next step to take, such as "Book an appointment" or "Get a quote."

What It Is

A call to action, usually shortened to CTA, is a clear prompt that asks the visitor to do something. It is most often a button, like "Call now," "Book a lesson" or "Request a quote." It works like a friendly salesperson saying, "Would you like to try it on?" at the right moment, instead of hoping the customer asks.

Why It Matters for Your Business

Without a clear CTA, visitors may like your site and still leave without contacting you. A salon that puts a "Book now" button in the header, at the top of the homepage and at the end of each service page gives people an easy path at every point where they might be ready.

Good to Know

Use action words that describe what happens next, and keep one main CTA per section. Too many competing buttons, all the same size and color, make it harder for people to choose any of them. Make the most important button the boldest, and let secondary links be quieter.
